Eclipses
herald
new beginnings in some arena of our horoscope!
Eclipses occur when the Sun and Moon are close to the
same declination, or equidistant from the celestial equator. There are two kinds
of eclipses, total and partial. Total eclipses occur when the declinations are
exact.
A solar eclipse is caused by the interposition of the Moon between the Earth and
the Sun, at a New Moon (or what we Astrologers refer to as a "conjunction"
of the Sun and Moon, although every lunation is not an
eclipse.
A lunar eclipse is caused by the Moon passing through the Earth’s shadow,
obscuring the light of the Sun from the Moon at a Full Moon.
When visible, a total solar eclipse is always awe-inspiring. The darkening of
the golden orb of day is strange, usually impressing a vague terror on the timid
heart.
The number of eclipses in a year cannot be fewer than
two, nor more than seven; the usual number is four.
The eclipse pattern of lunations is 19 years, corresponding to the 19-year cycle
of the Moon’s nodes. A total eclipse of the Moon occurs at the same degree every
19 years. This study of eclipse phases is called the Saros Cycle.
.
When lunations fall within three degrees of an aspect to any of the planets or
other vital points in the radical horoscope it has a marked effect upon affairs
of that Planet and house during the current month, and will easily take the
place of an aspect of the progressed Moon which is needed to fructify the
planetary indications then in force.

Collective changes ahead!
Even apart from primary directions, if a
New Moon
falls in close conjunction with a challenging chord of planetary energies it
will produce trouble in minor areas, and conversely a lunation which fall on
harmonious chords or easy planetary frequencies, such as Venus or Jupiter, will
make things pleasant and fruitful. These rules are from thousands of years
of observations and correlation and are in effect, however you can work with
challenging energies and make things happen. You can also be lazy during
harmonious aspects and snooze through the good stuff you were supposed to work
with so don't fall into a bad habit of Good and Bad. It's all up to you.
When a
New Moon is a Solar Eclipse
it produces first, the usual effect of a lunation during its current month, if
in aspect with any of the radical planets, and secondly, similar effects during
the months of the following year when aspects of the same nature are formed with
the place of the eclipse.
That is to say, if the eclipse fell in the twelfth house in Leo, square to Mars
in Scorpio, in the third house, then it could potentially produce enmity with
brothers and sisters during the Month the eclipse was formed. Then, when the
lunation occurs in Scorpio ( where Mars was ) more fuel will be added to the
fire by the square to the Leo eclipse point.
In February, when the Sun is in opposition to the Leo eclipse point from
Aquarius there could be more challenges from the same source. This would also re
occur in May from the Taurus squares to the Leo eclipse point. Conversely if the
initial aspect of the eclipse is good, more benefit will be experienced during
the months when sextile and trines are formed. But we can always avoid
difficulties as soon as we have understood the lessons and change our attitude.
Planets incline, they do not compel. Ignorance makes fools of us all.
Step up and pay attention to the stars. You are stardust. We are all
made from stardust.

Eclipses have long been reputed to be evil omens; they
get their rep because they are augurs of change. Change however is
considerably better for you than stagnation and routine, which can produce
idiocy, lethargy, etc.. We have all seen that ugly product.
During a Lunar Eclipse the light of the Full Moon can make us more aware as we discover that our emotional reality is dismantled because of our heightened emotional reactions.
Chaos, lunacy, madness , fears and doubts are exposed - bringing to the surface irrationality as well as emotional insecurities.
With lunar energies we can spiral down or up.
Dream of falling upwards as Astrologer,
Film maker, Antero Alli encourages.
One door closes and one door opens.
The changes that eclipses bring can be examined for clues of how the scenario
might unfold. The eclipse has an address in your natal horoscope.
It is the astrological house where the Lunar Eclipse location is present in your personal chart.
The effects of a Lunar Eclipse usually last for about 6 months, or until the next Lunar Eclipse.
We are all sensitive enough to work with eclipses. If they land on
planets or sensitive points in your natal -horoscope they are like a whammy
curve and you will need to pay attention and make a serious commitment to your
evolutionary growth.
One door closes and one door opens as ‘life-is-what-happens –while-you're-busy-making-other-plans’unfolds: such as births, deaths, promotions job losses,
health crisis, relationship dramas,, etc..
It can also denote a great
breakthrough if you can manage the catharsis inherent in the sun moon opposition
pattern.
An eclipse may reward us, but it might also just as easily offer a reality check –
a course correction.
The events that occur when an eclipse touches our personal horoscope often do so without too much forewarning, or if we have been warned we often didn’t want to make the
changes, so we ignored the warnings. If that is the case an eclipse has that feeling of the ground being ripped out from underneath our feet.
If a solar eclipse occurs within a week either side of your birthday, hold on because life as you know it is over. Some changes are coming down the pike, and no doubt they are to help get your life back on its evolutionary intent.
I find the awareness and heightened energy helps use the full moon energy as a
time to practice kindness and to watch more, do less and that results in a
state of happiness. The Moon when understood can bring the gift of lucid
dreaming and visionary states. Happiness is the word the Rosicrucian
astrologer Rudolph Steiner associated with a conscious relationship with the
Moon. You can do Happy!
