About
Tashi
Tashi began her film buying career in Vancouver, British
Columbia in 1974. She worked for West Coast Booking, placing first run
theatrical releases in an independent chain of theatres.
In 1980 she traded this experience into a Film Buying job for
Mann Theatres in Los Angeles and was responsible for the entire San Diego area.
Tashi continues to work in the industry as both a script
consultant, producer and writer. She has also served as the VP of distribution at
Botticelli Films ( Marvin Mitchelson), World Media Productions ( Steven Seagal
).
Currently she is VP of Pomegranate Pictures ( Stephen
Lambourne).
Tashi met Joseph Campbell when she was invited to attend a
seminar he gave at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada, by
her friend and mentor Jack Schwartz in 1973.
She continued to attend
Campbell's lectures and seminars in los Angeles California until his
death. Tashi is heavily influenced by Joseph's insights as well as her own
astrological/mythological understandings of the planetary movements. His
Hero's Journey has now become legendary Hollywood textbook stuff. Why use
a book? Tashi studied in person with Joseph for over 20 years.
Tashi also attended John Truby's first writers seminars in
the early 80's in los Angeles and uses his 21 steps in her work to this day.
Tashi's
has been helping aspiring screenwriters since 1983.
