My Way or The Highway.... 2008

Well... Your ruler Uranus has now spent 4 years in PISCES.   You must be more awakened to all that is by now!  The Secret, Whole Foods on every corner, Oprah spouting the New Age... awakening - it's a message who's time has come. 

So, the mantra, my way or the highway, bites Aquarius in the butt!  It's important for us all to behave like we are one.  That is the awakened Aquarius energy.  Whatever you would say or do to another, would you say or do it to yourself?  That should be the question you ask yourself now.  Am I loving?  Am I kind?  Am I strategically aligning myself with those dimensions of myself which are going to help us all... us all = humanity.

Mother Nature is pissed.  I don't know why... but it's pretty evident that we all need to pay attention to our eco prints. 

In my experience with Aquarius, there is a cold side, a superiority game, which is a disconnection between the heart and the kidneys ( in Chinese medicine ).  The Chinese use herbs to help correct this imbalance.  While Aquarius receives powerful planetary energies from planetary forces for many more years it is a time for this sign to find it's heart.  Wherever it creates dissonance, wherever it creates separations, Aquarius must realize that this divisiveness is contributing to  the collective disturbances to which Mother Nature now responds.

Uranus in Pisces promises to change the emotional quality of the Water Bearer.  Think of the image of melting snow.  That snow goes into the ground and nurtures the seeds, hidden deep in the earth, quietly budding. Uranus was last in the Zodiac sign Pisces from April 1919 to Jan 1928.  

Inventions and innovations are Uranus activities.  During the last phase of Uranus in Pisces the world got movies, radio, prohibition, the great crash, women got the vote, penicillin and a birth control clinic.

Interestingly enough we are now a world community, linked by the very technology that was founded during the last phase of Uranus in Pisces 84 years ago.  I believe there will be many innovations, and because this cycle has Neptune in Pisces, the new phase of Uranus in Pisces is a whole new tomatillo!  

A whole new emphasis on humanity, global reality, the connectedness of all things is ahead, for better and for worse.  If we look at the world, there is a huge conflict - based on faith.  The Arab/Jewish conflict is over faith.  The final word on which civilization is the "evil empire" is pretty sad, and is based on whose God is the real God.  If you think about it dispassionately, it is almost funny, if the reality didn't make it so sad.  People die everyday for their faith, for their illusions.

Uranus in Pisces could change all this.   Absolute change doesn't usually happen overnight.  But it is absolutely true that change will happen. And a great deal of change is ahead with the planetary influences to Aquarius and Aquarians.

Towards the end of Uranus in Pisces we will see more of what actually was accomplished.  Now, it is up to each of us as individuals to address our denial.  Escapist attitudes are a n essential part of the Aquarian profile, and we all have Aquarius in our charts.  We must all address those areas where we have denial.

Aquarius is that part of ourselves that uses the mind to justify cold behavior.  It is a sign that numbs the heart - and the way you know if you have done this is that you will have tricked yourself into thinking this is better than that, that you are superior to others, when in fact in the words of Dylan, we all have to serve someone. 

Aquarius when it is awake understands the brotherhood of man, and only creates connections and helps align itself and others in ways that strengthen the whole, that ennoble the individuals of a group.

When it is unconscious it manifests as divisiveness.  It conquers and divides, and does so in the name of it's superior vision or ideology or ideas -a true sign of numbness and selfishness.

Neptune continues to traverse the stars of tropical Aquarius.  This means the change may not be as easy to see - because Neptune rules Pisces and Uranus in Pisces is ruled by Neptune in Aquarius.  This is called a mutual reception and it intensifies the situation for both Aquarius and Pisces.  Humanity and individuals, especially those with Aquarius in their charts must examine escapist behavior.  There is so much opportunity to look at reality with an awakening honesty.  Humility must be a part of that perspective.

Neptune is in Aquarius all year.  All Aquarians are dealing with big issues and many are pretty confused and bewildered, just as the world around you is dealing with the bewilderment at the hatred and emotional numbness of those dimensions of ourselves which are detached and come from a numbed/cold heart. 

What have you done that is totally selfless this past year? If you were on TV and your life was transparent how much kindness would show up on the screen?  This is the type of stuff that might surface in your awareness in the next seven years while Uranus moves through compassionate Pisces.

My Tibetan Buddhist teacher Kalu Rinpoche used to say compassion without skillful means was rather futile.  Aquarius deals with perfecting equanimity.  Corrupt equanimity, which is now rampant in the world, manifests as manipulation.    When the Aquarius archetype sees others as less informed, or if we keep information from others by hording resources or taking advantage of our personal power others are kept off balance, and we never form intimate or close relationships.  Aquarians do this, and spend a lot of time in their heads, speculating and strategizing.  The remedy is LOVING KINDNESS.  The warm memories of how others have helped us or touched our lives dispels the cold detachment of our inner manipulator.  The passive mode of this is rampant in the new-agers, mirrored in the EAST by religious fanatics, who envelop and adore and become addicted to their "guru's, religions, beliefs or their particular and special faith."  Addicted to bliss, to the high of a new yoga movement, to emotional intensity of devotion, to the idea of oneself as in any way separate from others -- drives corrupt equanimity.  The world is our mirror.  We must address this situation as individuals in the WEST if we wish to change/ see balance in the world.  True loving kindness opens to the world but does not seek to name it, to control it in anyway, only to love.  We can love our teachers, but we must individuate and find our inner path.  We must trust our inner knowing, ultimately, even if we sit at the feet of a sage.  As the East continues to meet the West, this is the challenge to the archetype Aquarius. 

Once our personal ego begins to understand its connection to the collective, the desires of the personality gives way to a desire for true individuation, and a communion begins.  Gradual emancipation of limiting personal awareness unfolds as we begin to see ourselves as universal or connected to the whole.  Once we we are tolerant of all that is, we release the thought structures that were crystallized.  Tsunamis release crystallized beliefs.  We cry for others, we connect to others.  Lest we be besieged by more reminders from Mother Earth let us drop our cold detached judgments, and live with tolerance and loving kindness in each precious moment of this 8 year transition, culminating in 2012.

There are naturally some issues on which Aquarians are clear.  And it is a good thing, that those arenas exist, but without a birth chart I could not delineate what arenas those might be.  Aquarius is a fixed sign, so it is really an interesting set of challenges that face the Aquarius part of our charts.  

Wherever you find Aquarius in your chart (HOUSES OR PLANETS ..THAT ARE IN THE SIGN OF AQUARIUS...) you are now learning to re-evaluate goals, friendships, ideologies, freedom, the nature of love. 

My advice is do not try to find answers for everything.  Outside influences have agendas.  Question it all. use your internal compass to guide you to loving kindness.  Neptune won't tolerate anything less.

Prosperity arises from the openness of loving kindness.  We don't envelop others.  We allow what is good to come together, so that all may experience prosperity.  Openness and warmth naturally take place and the current planetary mutual reception influencing Aquarius can deliver us true kindness, happiness and true connection with others.

Natal Aquarius

Separations are the wake up calls for Aquarians. The protective structures of strategic alliances (aka friends) must generally be reviewed by Aquarians.  

The desire to define oneself drives Aquarians toward a false notion of permanence. Impermanence or constant change is what results in the liberation of Aquarian energies. 

Escape into the new age, fraught with Aquarian alternatives, is at best temporary and often and generally no better than the very hierarchal structures from which these souls wish to escape.  

The desire to escape something is the problem for Aquarius.  Aquarius has a shadow full of trauma and separation.  It must work towards a kind of heart based unconditional love and a knowledge of its connection with the rest of humanity.  It starts with personal friendships, collaborations, and then expands outward to include the collective goals of humanity.

The heart is battleground for Leo/Aquarius.  Aquarius being an air sign, unfortunately believes in "answers", and eventually  Aquarius realizes there is more value in questions than can ever be found in answers. Where are you with uncertainty?
